Common Dental Emergencies
Some of the dental emergencies that bring people to our office include:

- A broken or lost restoration
- Unexplained pain or swelling
- Gum pain or swelling
- Accidents or trauma
- Infection
If you experience anything that causes pain with your teeth or gums, just give us a call and we can help determine if an emergency dental appointment is necessary.
Root Canal Therapy
If you have a severe infection inside your tooth, near the nerve, you may experience sudden pain, sensitivity, or pressure. Often, these symptoms are an indication of an infection that may be relieved with root canal therapy.
Many patients fear root canals, but there really is no reason to worry. Modern advancements in dentistry allow Dr. Ken Torres and Dr. Allea Paras Torres to provide comfortable root canal treatment that will often eliminate your symptoms and save your tooth.
After making sure you feel completely numb, our dentist will gently remove all signs of infection, bacteria, and decay. We will then fill the canal with an inert material and medication to assist with healing. Finally, We will seal your tooth while your body takes over the natural healing process.
After a couple of weeks, we will have you back to check your tooth and make sure there is still no sign of infection. We will reinforce your tooth with a restoration, usually a dental crown, to give your tooth added support.
Extractions
Removing a tooth is always a last resort and we try to avoid it, when possible. Unfortunately, sometimes removing a tooth is the best way to protect your health. When a dental extraction becomes necessary, we will always make sure you are numb and relaxed for treatment.
Both our dentists are skilled at removing damaged teeth. Your procedure will be over before you know it!
Once your procedure is complete, we will go over the best way to help your body heal. Depending on the location of your extracted tooth, we may recommend tooth-replacement therapy such as a bridge or dental implant to keep your remaining teeth from shifting and to avoid bone loss.
